The challenge
The situation
Turning a still into a short video meant editing software and the skills to drive it. That was a barrier for exactly the people making the content, who had the ideas but not the toolchain.
How we approached it
The thinking
We put all of the complexity behind one action. The interface offers a single button; the queue, retries and render orchestration live on the server where the user never meets them. Simplicity at the front was the product requirement, not a nicety.
What we built
The engineering
A still-to-video tool: one action on the front, a backend rendering queue doing the work, and a finished short video returned to the user.
- Single-action still-to-video conversion
- Backend rendering queue
How it helped
The difference
Video production stopped requiring an editor, which put the format within reach of the team actually producing the content.
Measured result
A still image becomes a finished short video in under a minute.
